Description

  1. Promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors

  2. Performs tasks which involve exposure to visible blood contamination or reasonably anticipated blood contamination

  3. Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or bodily fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard

  4. Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums and steam cleaners.

  5. Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.

  6. Cleans up both human and animal waste and other bodily fluids, as required.

  7. Disposes of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.

  8. Handles various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.

  9. Plans work schedule for major tasks.

  10. Dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.

  11. Empties trash containers daily.

  12. Wet mops floors in all assigned residents’ rooms and bathrooms daily.

  13. Damp mops all assigned corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and other areas daily.

  14. Thoroughly washes basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily.

  15. Checks all vacant rooms daily to maintain freshness and cleanliness.

  16. Cleans all air vents throughout facility

  17. Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor and completes maintenance request as needed (i.e. carpet stains, leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).

  18. Washes windows as scheduled.

  19. Treats and cleans carpets when necessary and as scheduled.

  20. Periodically checks entire area for spills, water, etc. especially in residents’ bathrooms.

  21. Follows instructions on use of germicidal solutions to clean

  22. Uses safety precautions in all housekeeping services

  23. Complies with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.
